Importance of a Healthy Mouth

We all want a great smile, which is why good oral hygiene is so important as it can effect your overall health!

Poor Oral Hygiene can lead to a variety of dental and medical problems in the future such as Gum Disease, Infections, Bone Loss, Heart Disease, Strokes and much more.

Here are a few top tips to keep your mouth healthy and your teeth sparkly.

Brush at least twice per day – Don’t brush too hard or too fast as this could damage your gums.

Floss after brushing – This will help get in between spaces of the teeth where the tooth bristles cant reach, removing more food particles and bacteria reducing the risk of disease like gingivitis. 

Use mouthwash after brushing and flossing – Helps remove any further food, bacteria from the mouth that flossing and brushing may have left behind.

Clean your tongue – Keep your breath fresher for longer by cleaning the roof of your mouth and the tongue, there are special tongue cleaners or even just gentle use your toothbrush.

Visit your dentist regularly – If you keep a good routine with regular dentist appointments it will help detect any issues the moment they begin reducing the risk of further issues in the future.

Cut back on tobacco, fizzy drinks and coffee where possible – The are the main few that can cause issues from stains to too decay.
